Computers aren’t the only things that need power . . . transcribers need fuel, too!! Here’s another tip from Laura in Idaho Falls (continued from yesterday):
. . . So now, my arsenal consists of two computers, two chargers, two adapters, extension cord, a small bottle of water on the outside of the bag, and a healthy snack, for emergencies. I also like to keep a five dollar bill stashed in my bag, because as transcribers, there are occasions we get asked to do another class last minute, which doesn't leave enough time to run home for lunch. So I need a stash, just in case that happens and I need to eat to keep my energy up. (Murphy's law states that the day you need it, you forget your wallet!) A hungry transcriber is not a fast transcriber!
