roller bags with sturdy wheels

Kerri (Bellingham, WA) wrote in to the listserv recently:

    Hi all -

My wonderful, talented transcribers have worn out another roller bag :-)  Our campus has brick walkways and courtyards and the brick is tearing the wheels up.  This last bag barely lasted 6 months.  The bags I am using are Samsonite and the company did replace two of them - no questions asked. If I have to order new ones, I would like to start with something that will last a little longer...

    Suggestions???

Survey says . . .

You might try going to a sports supply store and simply replacing the wheels . . . You'd probably need to look in the skateboarding or rollerblading area, and you might try asking the staff if they have any suggestions for durable wheels.

My bag is the Samsonite style # 943405 UPC #0-23572-43179-9. I have been very happy with it!  Good luck!

We use Targus, and when a set of our wheels wore out they sent a new set free.  They're not too difficult to replace.

I supply all of my transcribers the Patriot Wenger bags. They are made by the same company that makes the Swiss Army Knife. They take a lot of abuse and if you have ANY problems, the company sends you a new one. They are a bit pricey but they are worth it. I use nothing else.
