transcribing for the big screen: font size and window size

Can you read the text from a distance?

At an event or meeting, if you are transcribing for the "big screen" (i.e., the reader computer is connected to a projector), make sure to get to the venue early.  Experiment with the font size and the size of the TypeWell Reader window, to make sure that the text projected onto the screen can be easily seen from the back of the room.

You may need to adjust the window to take up only the top half of the screen, for example, so that people walking in front of the screen won't block the view.  (Remember that the most recent text is always near the bottom of the TypeWell window!)

When you increase the font size or reduce the window size on the Reader screen, you should make similar adjustments to your Transcriber screen.  That will help you format the transcript better, for reading ease.  You might need to insert extra white space, since paragraphs will reach the upper limit of 4-5 lines more quickly than they do with a smaller font.

Depending on the lighting in the room, you might also need to change the screen/text colors from black-on-white to yellow-on-black, using Reverse Colors feature on the View menu.
