when to use Streamtext vs. TypeWell Premium Reader

Some remote readers use Streamtext.  Others use TypeWell's Premium Reader software.  What's the difference?

Ease of use – Streamtext works from any browser, and may be simpler to set up and use in that regard.  TypeWell's Premium Reader software works in conjunction with Skype, establishing a direct Skype connection with the remote transcriber's Premium Transcriber program.

Latency – Premium Reader software is better visually, because it shows text more smoothly.  The latency is noticeably shorter, so the words appear on the reader's screen more quickly than with Streamtext.

Edits – When a remote transcriber makes edits, TW Premium Reader displays the edits in real-time without a big visual erase-and-restore.  In Streamtext, a transcriber's edits can interrupt the flow of the text because Streamtext will erase everything back to the point of editing; the text that "disappears" during editing will reappear once the transcriber begins typing again.

Text formatting – TW Premium Reader shows text formatting like bold and italics.  Text formatting is not visible in Streamtext

Math & science – TW Premium Reader shows special math and science symbols, while Streamtext does not.
